HomeServices › Google Ads Brisbane

Half of a Brisbane ad budget goes to the wrong side of town.

Most accounts we take over are targeting "Brisbane". One campaign, one radius, one budget, covering everything from Redcliffe to Beenleigh.

Brisbane does not work like that, and neither do the people searching in it. Here is what actually matters here, and what we do about it.

Five things about Brisbane that change how the ads should run.

None of this shows up in a generic Google Ads guide, because none of it is true everywhere. It is true here.

Brisbane is a river with a city around it

North side and south side behave like two separate markets. Someone in Chermside is not ringing a business in Springwood, no matter what the map says the distance is. A campaign targeting "Brisbane" spends a large share of its budget on the side of town you will never service, and the click costs the same as a good one.

People here search by suburb, not by city

"Electrician Wilston" gets typed far more often than "electrician Brisbane". Those suburb searches are cheaper, more specific and closer to booking, and most accounts do not bid on them at all because there are hundreds of suburbs and only one obvious city name.

"Brisbane" means four different things to Google

Brisbane City Council, greater Brisbane, the Brisbane metro region, and the postcode ranges that sweep in Logan, Ipswich and Moreton Bay. Pick the wrong one and you are either invisible in half the suburbs you service or paying for calls from an hour away.

Queensland does not do daylight saving

For five months a year we are an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne. Accounts set up interstate, or copied from an interstate template, run their peak hours an hour off for that entire stretch. It is a small thing that quietly costs money every summer.

Storm season changes everything

From November through February, demand for roofing, tree work, electrical and water damage goes vertical for a few days at a time and then falls away. A flat monthly budget misses the days that actually matter, and a fixed bid strategy will not chase them fast enough.

How we run a Brisbane account.

Same principles whether you are a trade, a clinic, a shop or a professional practice. The suburbs and the search words change; the approach does not.

Suburb-level campaigns, not one Brisbane campaign

Built around where you actually work and how far you will genuinely travel, with the suburbs you service named in the ads.

Bidding on the suburb searches your competitors ignore

Cheaper clicks, warmer callers, and far less competition from the national brands sitting on the broad city terms.

Budget that moves with the weather and the season

More on the days demand spikes, less on the dead weeks, instead of the same figure every month regardless.

Local hours, set in Queensland time

Your ads run when you answer, adjusted for the fact that we do not move the clocks.

A landing page that names the suburb

If the ad says Bulimba, the page says Bulimba. It reads as a local business rather than a national call centre, and it converts better because of it.

Calls tracked back to the search

So you know which suburbs and which job types actually pay, and can put the money there.

Run a trade business?

Trades have their own set of problems on top of the local ones: emergency work competing with planned work, after-hours calls, and quotes that go quiet. We've written that up separately.

Google Ads for tradies

What it costs, and when ads aren't the answer.

Two separate numbers. Your ad budget goes to Google, and around $1,000 a month is where it starts doing real work in a market this size. That money is yours and we never touch it.

Then there's In-House, the system we built. It runs the ads along with your website, your Google listing and your social. Not per service, not a percentage of your ad spend, and no lock-in.

And the honest part: if your Google Business Profile is out of date or your website doesn't say what you do and where you do it, ads are the wrong first spend. They amplify what is already there. We'll tell you that up front rather than after you've paid for a month of clicks.

In-House

Ads, website, Google and social, all handled by the system we built. Ad budget is separate and stays yours.
